The history of Wolfsnare Plantation goes back to early 1700s when John Pallet purchased 600 acres from the Adam Keeling Family to build his plantation. Wolfsnare Plantation was named after nearby Wolf’ Snare Creek. Originally called Van Hick’s Creek, the creek was renamed due to the large pits that once existed to trap wolves along its bank.
Situated practically at the beginning of the Great Neck Road, Wolfsnare Plantation was fully developed in the 1950’s – 60’s.
